I was wondering if any of you have planned any trips for this year. We have set aside some time and so far have planned:
1. We are going on a Kentucky Trip in April for Ordovician fossils.
2. Most likely a few day trips to Big Brook and Shark River mixed in.
3. We are going to Virgina and Stratford Hill in May
4. We are planning a trip to Brownies Beach at Calvert Cliffs in late June.
5. Then I would love to hit St Claire and Red Hill.
6. Last but not least, I would love to go to PCS. My fossil club gets a few spaces and hopefully, I can get to go this year.
That's it so far.

Re: Anyone planning any fossil trips this year?
Fri, March 28, 2008 - 7:37 AMI am hoping to get the chance to visit the Dorset coast again which forms part of the world heritage site 'The Jurassic Coast'. Lyme Regis and Charmouth are both very well known for their fossils.

Re: Anyone planning any fossil trips this year?
Fri, March 28, 2008 - 10:59 PMThe recent discovery re the Ediacara fossils ( flinders ranges)has ingnited the need in me to again commence staggering about in rocks. An area that i would like to look in is in the far North West of the state taking a line from where the Flinders Range actually peters out and becomes very low, very very old hills and weathered rocks. This is about 700kms from where I live . The weather is just great here at this time for a trip like that so I shall try and get up there in the next week or so. -

Re: Anyone planning any fossil trips this year?
Sat, March 29, 2008 - 5:26 AMWow - both of those trips sound exciting. I live on the East Coast of the US and have not had an opportunity to hit any Jurassic sites yet - we are mostly Cretaceous here. Most of what I find is marine in origin. There are some ice age finds (none that I have found yet) and rare dino finds (again none for me). I hope some day to make it out west and try my hand at finding something bigger.
Please let me know how you both make out.
