soo, i don't know anymore. i like the idea, but i've had a lot of responses from people telling me i have no right to tell people what to wear (which is true), and also some people have pointed out they would feel like they were attacked. do you guys think we can do this without doing either one of these things?

is this a project something people want to put time and effort into? since my accident, i really don't have time for this...

23 people in this tribe, some of you should have some thoughts...

so, i've done a lot of thinking in the past few days and i think that the previous version was a bit too itrusive, sounded like too much work out there on the playa, and gave the air that one thing is better than another on the playa. i don't believe that's true. i don't believe my opinion regarding fashion is better or worse than other people. what i love about the playa is the fact that you know you can start talking to everyone, regardless of their outer appearance and you NEVER know what type of person is standing in front of you. so, you don't judge anyone anymore. once there's no judgement everyone's opinion is equal. just as it should be. once i realized this, i wanted to make sure that what we will do out on the playa must be taken as lightly as possible. made as much fun as possible. so, i turned it into a game. here's the outline, once again, any feedback is appreciated!

Who are we?
Name Suggestions:?

1) Spanking fashion attendants.
2) ??

Our Mission
To educate newbies and fashion-clueless people out on the playa of the ways they can dress up in playa gear such as the multiple free wardrobes available out on the playa – main one is the burning man boutique. The main idea and point we are trying to make is not to humiliate people and make them feel bad they aren’t wearing “correct playa attire”, but to help them in their acclamation to burning man.

How we will achieve our mission
We will be issuing spanking tickets to people who are not in playa-wear. We will also be issuing invitations to participate in the Burnees – our playa fashion contest.

How this camp might work as a village
I would like to share utilities with both the lost penguins and pink flamingos if they are interested. Such utilities might include (but are not limited to): gray water collection, kitchen, lounge.

Camp Size
I would say about 15-20 people at the most

Shade Structure
Ideally, I would like a tent like structure – similar to the one Totem had next door.

Food/kitchen
Something I would like to share with the TLP

Shower
Either share this with TLP/PF or build a replica of what PF did this burning man.

Art Car
We might have use of Bob’s golf cart.

Fashion contest (burnees)

We will have daily fashion contests starting from Wednesday. Any person who received a ticket and later on got it stamped, can enter the daily contests. Hopefully by Wednesday we will have enough people wanting to enter these shows. Again, any suggestions on the daily contests are appreciated. The main show Friday evening will have winners from the past few days (if they show up…) as well as people from the streets of BRC.

Categories
Best Faux Fur
Best Animal Costume
Best Original Burning Man Costume
Best leather outfit
more????

Spanking tickets
BIGGEST CHANGE: tickets are issued ONLY to people who agree to participate. So, we stop them, explain they are “in violation of rule 223.4 of the BORG” and explain that we are enforcing it through spanking. Will you like to participate? If so, we explain the rules, write up the ticket and send them on their way. The game is on.

Spanking tickets will be issued to any individual walking/riding around Bm with the following pre-determined violations:
Pre-determined violations
Bermuda short
Turned-around Frat boy cap
Logo showing
A Polaroid picture will be snapped of the person with the violation as the “before” shot and hung in our camp.

The person getting the ticket has 3 days to find a wardrobe out on the playa (a list is provided) and come back to our camp dressed in some sort of playa gear. They get their ticket stamped, the “after” Polaroid picture is taken and they can keep the ticket as souvenir. It’s up to people in our camp to find you out on the playa – if you get caught out there with a ticket that’s not stamped and older than 3 days, or this is your second violation, you get an ?? amount of spanking.

Extensions: will be granted if the violator has any type of flair such as funky hat/item of clothing.
Second ticket violation: any suggestions on this?
Third ticket violation: didn’t like the prison idea – too much like the police image I’m trying to move away from.

Ticket Design: the front will have room for the person’s Name, camp name/address, violation with checkbox next to it, signature and date.
The back will have a list of the playa wardrobes available to the person who got the ticket. Room for the stamp.

Playa eye for the clueless guy/girl
We go out as a team and find a person who is truly clueless and take them out to the burning man boutique/wardrobe places out on the playa and help them choose an outfit. At the end of the week, these individuals will be asked to return for the burnees and have their own category.
