I was going through some of my videos this morning and came across this one...it was truly a magical moment for me and with all this talk about ATS and sisterhood throughout tribe I just wanted to share this with you all.
This is the moment that I "got it" and what it's all about :)

Goodness...that's beautiful. Thanks for posting that :)
My troupe sister and I have just started to do the moving meditation and ever since I watched Carolena run it on Vol. 7 DVD it really makes me feel it should be done. I'm glad she shares it with us and explains what each move is. Of course, this prayer is much longer and different but it really does draw out what this dance means to so many women and men and it doesn't matter if there are just two of you dancing together or twenty. ATS really is a gift :)

That is so beautiful Deanna! Thank you for sharing that.

I take ATS classes from Jenny in Charlotte and we always do our meditation to this music before we begin class... it is always so meaningful to me and I am amazed at the connection that it generates with all of the dancers. It truly is a way to connect with our center, our teacher, and dance space and other dancers. I try to be truly present in the moment while performing the meditation and just find that is really grounds and connects me to the dance and the dancers. Thank you so much for posting the video! ;-)

Absolutely lovely! Thank you for posting and sharing, Deanna!

We (Trillium) never dance without prayer first. Even in the walkway behind the stage at the fair, in a dim hallway, under a tree-where ever we can find a place to center ourselves and connect with each other, Mother Earth, The Goddess, our sisters in dance. I feel like there is a connection that comes from our sisters that seems to energize and calm us at the same time. On the very rare occasion that we have begun dancing with out Prayer, there seems to be something missing and the connection is weaker.

    Again, Thank you!

Thank you! It is such an honor to be part of this! Amazing! Jen has worked so hard, running the studio, putting so much time into Tribal:Pura Milwaukee and getting her Teaching Certification...and that is just part of her life!

So true Traci. I feel so much more grounded and less nervous after I've done the prayer with my troupemates. Like a calm has washed over me and I'm ready to dance.

Hello to all my ATS sisters! We never, ever, begin our dance without the prayer. All my dancers have told me that on those rare occassions that we haven't done it they feel all wrong somehow.

We always do it backstage and my dance partner Deana and I perform our prayer as part of the performance - it really settles the crowd into seeing something new and different and draws them into our world. We did it at Planet Egypt (a top London bellydance event) a few weeks ago and theorganiser said that it completely changed the vibe in the room - the crowd had been a bit weird utnil that point and it seemed to lift the energy and revive the spirits :-)

Thank you for sharing your special moment with us.

      We love the prayer!

My dance instructor always starts us off with a prayer. It just seems to settle us all down and brings everyone together. We usually do this backstage and then we when are finished dancing on stage, we end up in prayer position. I loved the video that was posted - it is absolutely beautiful!
