What do you call those little metal things that are crimped onto the end of metal cables to keep them from fraying?
I installed a new shifter cable and need one to install at the cut end so it will seat properly in the shifter. They included everything else I needed except this little thing that might cost a penny. I tried to recycle the old one but once those things are on, they're going to stay on.
I suppose I could just go to the shop and they'd be able to figure out what I mean but it has a name and I wanna know.

Do they even have a "proper" name for them?
If you have a soldering gun, a drop of solder will keep your cables from fraying if you don't want to use a crimp cap. -
