Seriously, every time I see the add for the latest 'Gothic Bellydance' dvd I'm having flashbacks of Lursa and Bator from Star Trek. Is it just me? Who would surely make the fiercest foul, drunk and hostile bellydancers ever!

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 6:28 AMI've always wanted to dress up as a Klingon female and dance with a Batliff. *giggle* Do you have a link to the specific DVD you mean? Are their costumes Klingon-like? -

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 7:41 AMActually...
One of the girls in our community DID dress up like a Klingon...complete with bumpy forehead and boots!
She did a dance to a song from "Farscape" for our Halloween hafla. It was pretty freaking cool. :)

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 9:53 AMbianca ... and OMG tempest told me two weeks ago. One of them is a gothic dancer and one actually isn't: she just essentially looked good in the costume. -

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 3:30 PMnot exactly..
Jeniviva and Blanca. Jeniviva (on the right) is a Gothic Bellydancer. Blanca doesn't market herself as such (Sensual Bellydance), but she did a Gothic-themed performance on the DVD (and the last one as well). -

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 12:16 PMI'm a geek... I'll admit it... and a friend of mine used to have a skit she did as "Duress and the Klingetts" and they were a womans singing group. Nothing like seeing a bunch of Klingons singing and dancing to "Stop in the Name of Love"! Let me tell ya... it rocked!

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 9:39 PMWasn't there an entire troupe of Klingon bellydancers at one point?....I recall reading about them, somewhere.
I *know* there are twi'lek bellydancers (for the Star Wars fans) at Gen Con every year. IIRC they're dwindling in numbers.

Re: Gothic Bellydance vs the Klingons
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 3:31 AMOne of my PURE sisters does Klingon stuff as well, and has a routine in mind with her nice curvy sword thingy. I'll be first in line to see it!
