Must be the full Moon

But I really want to hurt someone. Work was making me cranky, and I have been trying to 'relax' by watching some snake dancing videos and found THIS (insert horrid look upon my face): www.youtube.com/watch

I want to hurt her. The way she was whipped that snake around, UUGHH!!! And she laughs about some of the 'mishaps' with her snake!!! AAAARRGGHHH!!!!!!

AND MUST every other snake dancer be a sorceress / witch / pagan goddess. I really don;t care what you do in your private rituals at home (hell, I have my share) but I swear I feel like the odd agnostic outcast when people ask me if am a witch ...."BUT, you are a snake dancer right? I thought all the snake dancers were witches (because that is all they seem to see on you tube)"

I need to go howl at the moon right now.

** crossposted in my snake dancer tribe because I just need to vent about that 'witch' above.

"...Belly, tribal, cabaret, fusion. I dance with snakes, with swords..." is there anything that she doesn't do????? (dishes perhaps???) Cue in the Twilight Zone music.

    Poor little sneaky snake.

Yeah, must be the phase of the moon. I've been in a shitty mood all day, too. Passes the flask of ... whatever.

Funny, I was on the Bellydance Nation tribe yesterday and she's the Bellydancer of the Month...whatever that is. She's got some great flutters, but something about her dancing makes me think that her claim of belly dancing for 15 years is a bit of an overstatement.

@ ~1:20 she says that dancing with living things they sometimes have a mind of their own - ya think?! - and the proceeds to say she once dropped a snake while dancing? Was she flinging it around like she was here? Maybe it was trying to escape through the only means it saw available? Poor, poor snakey...

I have to admit that I haven't gotten up the chutzpah to watch this video because from the comments on here, it sounds like I'm going to get really pissed off.

I see an animal get hurt and I freak the hell out. Can someone who's much more level-headed then me please tell her to go to hell?

I almost did not watch but I did and commented too. Snake dancer my ass... I would never whip my snake around like that. No wonder it gets caught in her skirts and hair, it is trying to hang on and in her words "feel safe". Some people just don't get it...

I kind of got the feeling she was hinting at somewhere else when she said it likes to crawl into dark warm places where it feels safe...............................................................

Would someone care to call Animal Control on this woman? She even admits to 'dropping' a snake! They are living beings... you don't "drop" a living being! GAH!!!! Funny...I personally dislike snakes...but still.

I can't stand BD Nation. What's-his-name, the mod, always picks dancers from his local area (DC area) as his featured dancer of the month. WTF is that about? Yes, he does venture outside of his geo area, but it's not very common. I don't even peek at that tribe anymore. It just pissed me off too much.

I couldn't imagine doing that. My 2 snakes love to dance. They both have different styles and different areas they like to be. I dance with 2 of them and have never dropped one, nor have they gotten caught anywhere. We dance together though. I watch other dancers who use them as props (like the links) and it makes me want to kick them in places.
I just think: "How could they!!!???"
Mine hear the music and are at the door of their enclosure, wanting to dance. Even on their grumpy days (shedding, digesting) they want to dance.
              They've never been abused though.
