The family next door showed us their house tonight and their pet Ferret(MoJo) REALLY liked Me(well of course!) Then they said when we move into the new house next door I could Have Him!
I have always loved Ferrets...so I am thinking of introducing MoJo to my 81 lb Dog Buddy... if they get along I'll keep MoJo! Buddy met a Ferret at China Lake last year.
Whaddaya all think ?

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 3:53 AMyea uuumm,,,Daddy Jake? LOL Step away from the ferret..LOL You would have to totally go through the whole house to ensure there were no tiny mouse holes anywhere for him to get under. Then there is the whole weekly bathing and amking sure he doesnt get out and hiding things you do not wish for him to steal..LOL I love them dearly, but they are a handful....:)
Give Buddy biggy hugs for me...It is you know,,menopause time,,,I will be quiet for some more time..HUgs and I miss you Daddy Jake.. -

Re: A Ferret!
Wed, May 28, 2008 - 2:57 PMNow I'll say what I was trying to say a week ago.
You totally should get a ferret.
Although, I have been told from other ferret (not owners... aficionados maybe?) people that one ferret is way more work than any other number of ferrets. I've also been told that you will have to block up all teeny tiny little holes in your house, and give them a bath every week. And apparently cats and dogs are the coolest toys you could ever buy for a ferret.
Quick ferret story, from Horse Isle, an online game I play:
Apparently this gal had a ferret and brought it to meet her horse. The ferret looked at the horse's nose and said "Oo! Tunnel!" And it jumped right IN! In her words, "Have you ever seen a horse jump eight feet straight up in the air from a standing start?" What happened then? The ferret tried to go in again! Apparently they do not understand the concept of "limits."
So get a couple! -

Re: A Ferret!
Fri, July 4, 2008 - 10:53 AMNote about ferrets:
They aren't rodents. They are a type of weasel and have small, sharp teeth instead of two bucky beaver teeth up front. -
-
Re: A Ferret!
Sat, July 5, 2008 - 2:33 PMThey also looooooooooooooooooove pant legs ... just saying ....
If they had opposable thumbs, they'd be in charge ... until they got distracted by shiney things ....
I love Ferrets, I had two of them for the longest time ... but we lived in an older home --a real true "fixer-upper" --and the "kids" got into everything.
Loyal, funny, friendly, cute, and uncontrollable.
But Jake, I think you can handle chaos just fine ...
Go for it! -

Re: A Ferret!
Fri, July 25, 2008 - 8:44 PMMy getting a Ferret has been placed on "Permanent Hold"....for now!
I am VERY BUISY with Buddy...Copper and my Guy's 14 grandchildren! we just hosted them here for the second Summer BBQ/Pool Party Today(7/25)....Whew! That Big Portable Above Ground Pool REALLY Holds UP to 14 roughousing kids in it! Kudo's to INTEX for making a great inexpensive "Kid-Proof Pool!"...Now if I could just get all the GRASS Out of it they tracked in..now where did I put that Pool Vacum? -

Re: A Ferret!
Sun, July 27, 2008 - 7:42 PMI am "THE Pool Boy"!
I chem it...clean it...clean the filter element...test it...adjust it..add water when everyone splashes it out....it's NEVER Ending *Sigh*!
But....I LUV IT!..having your own Swimming Pool ROCKS!
