1) Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice Invites Entries for
Writers Fund

The Astraea Lesbian Foundation's ( astraeafoundation.org/ )
Lesbian Writers Fund seeks to support the work of emerging
lesbian poets and fiction writers within the United States.

To be eligible for an award, applicants must be a lesbian-
identified writer of poetry and/or fiction who resides in the
U.S. Applicants should have published at least one piece of
writing (in any genre) in a newspaper, magazine, journal,
anthology, or professional Web publication; and should have not
published more than one book, including a chapbook, in any
subject or genre with a publisher. The submission must be a
poetry or fiction sample in English that includes some lesbian
content (e.g., lesbian desire, identity, and/or perspective).

First-place awardees and two runners-up in the poetry and fiction
categories will receive cash awards ($10,000 for the awardee and
$1,500 for runners-up). With support from Skip's Sappho Fund, at
least one grant will be awarded to a lesbian writer who is based
west of the Mississippi.
