Eight artists will each receive a Fellowship consisting of:

• a $3,000 cash award
• up to six consecutive months of free residency at Kala Art Institute
• 24/7 access to Kala’s printmaking workshop and electronic media center
• exhibition of artwork created during the residency in a group show at the Kala Gallery

Artists producing innovative work in printmaking, book arts, electronic/digital media (photograhy, video, sound, animation, etc.), or installation art are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be judged on conceptual creativity, originality and artistic excellence as well as technical knowledge. The Fellowship Competition is juried by Kala’s Executive Director, Artistic Director, and Program Manager. The Fellowship does not include housing.

Submit the following materials:

-Fellowship Application Form (PDF, Download below)
-Resume detailing your training/skill level
-10 still images either on slides or a CD-rom; 3 video works on a DVD or a VHS video tape; or 3 installation works in either still or video format; no actual work, please!
-Slide list/narrative
-Letter of intent describing your artistic goals
-Self addressed, stamped envelope (for the return of your application materials)
