I've been frustrated by not being able to participate in the fundraising drive through this tribe. There are no goods, services or artwork currently being offered that I need, want or can afford. I've been racking my brain to come up with some ideas for some service (or goods) that I could offer. So far, I haven't been able to think of anything on that end either.
So, just now, I went to the findchris.org website to make a donation. When I attempted to use the Google checkout featured on the website, I landed on an ERROR page that said, "Oops! Unfortunately, this merchant no longer accepts payments through Google. We apologize for the inconvenience."
The website has message on it saying, "Currently, Donations to help find Chris may be made through Wells Fargo Bank, Chris Coan Donative Fund." However, this was meaningless to me. I wanted to make a quick, painless donation via the Internet.
If there has been a PayPal account set up for donations, please either post the e-mail address or send the e-mail address to me by private message. Cool?

Sun, February 17, 2008 - 3:36 PMTorrid thank you so much for your effort . . . it will probably take awhile to get enough goods and services together to really get this tribe moving . . . as soon as we get a few more postings I thought we should open this up to the greater tribe population . . . we do still need to look into the pay pal thing, so right now we are really not up and moving yet . . .
Appreciate any suggestion or assistance from anyone who can assist with the issue on the sight . . . I am looking into the findchris.org site problem, and will get back to you asap . . .

I know you must have a lot on your mind. I didn't mean to bother you with my post.
Setting up a PayPal account just takes a few minutes (and is free). Once you (or Kristalina) enter the bank account information for where the donations will be deposited, PayPal will enable anyone who has a PayPal account to send money by e-mail. The money will be electronically transferred from the bank account of the sender into the account connected with the e-mail address that you provide to members. It's easy and painless.
I feel a bit helpless to actively assist in the search for Chris. Making small donations every now and then are all I can do at this point. Please let us know when we can be of service in this way.

you should be able to link the Paypal to the Wells Fargo account . . .
you'd be wise to consult tax counsel, otherwise the donations may wind up subject to ordinary income tax to the soul whose name(s) is/are on the account(s) . . .
donors, too, like to have the peace of mind that when they make a donation it's going to the cause for which they sent the $$ . . .
right now I cannot do the legal work because of my employment contract . . .
maybe in a few more months that will change and I'll let you know . . . -

Chris's step mom is a tax person, so I believe the original information was considered, but I will check with them anyways . . .
David said he would look into the pal pal thing, and we should be able to link it to the bank trust . . .

Mon, February 18, 2008 - 9:32 AMi will talk with chris' dad and find out how to get this happening.....i have never set up a pay pal account before. new to this, any tips anyone? i will find out what bank account we could use to set this up. we should have it up and working soon.........thanks everyone.
