If you are a fire performer and would like to participate in the Pre Burn Ceremony at Interfuse 2008 , contact me at: vesuviustribalfire@gmail.com.

All fire performers will be required to have a fire watch. Please include their name/s and email address in your request. Once your request is received, You will be added to the Pre Burn Ceremony list of performers & our yahoo group for access to diagrams and communications about the Pre Burn Ceremony.
You and your fire watch/s name must be on our final performers list to receive a laminate for entrance to the main circle on burn night.

Looking for help with Benefit!

I am helping with a benefit to get the Des Moines Social Club going. It is going to be based around a circus old school style with things ranging from fire performances to spoken word. You can read about their vision for the club at http://www.subjectivetheatre.org/SC-BusinessPlanF.pdf .

Basically it is a non profit that will be a dinner theatre with space for classes for arts of all kinds and many other wonderful things. I believe this will be amazing to have in Des Moines and have met with the person behind it and believe in their vision for it.

we are a nonprofit group looking to promote a global dance community. we are looking to tear down the barriers that the various subcultures have erected to separate themselves from one another. Imagine bringing together, psytrance, DnB, EDM, IDM, Trance, Jungle, Skaters, Ravers, Dancers, drumers, massage therapists, vendors, painters, grafiti artists, etc etc the list goes on and on into every subculture that has arrisen out of a desire to separate from the mainstream. We had our first inaugural event this past weekend and it went very well. We desire to become a compendium for counter cultural. a meeting place so to speak. If you know of any events going on in the midwest area please sign up on runboards or drop us an email and let us know about it becasue that is the only way to promote a larger community. Dance is bigger than one city or one production compnay, we want to help all of the companys and co-op's that give a shite about the dance culture and a global culture in general. We are looking at getting artists together to produce art during our events, be that kinetic sculptures, paiting drawing, photography, essenitally anything and everything that would add to an awesome party.

FIRE SPINNERS!!!! Here's why i have posted on this tribe. I would like the members of this tribe to let us know when they have events so we can help you all promote what you are doing locally. We are also interested in having spinners come to our events. Groove Omaha Productions is still in its infancy but we have alot of talented ppl here and the dedication to make somethign larger happen. we have even kicked around the idea of a festival. Not a regional burn or anything, but something very similar to it.

If you all are looking for action please let groove omaha help provide you with some! If you have got time in your already busy schedules we could use any help any one can offer, including research for the forum page, brainstorming ideas, DJ's looking for audiences (pro bono for the moment we cant pay you yet, just offer you a killer party), fire spinners, hand drummers, sound techs, visual artists, revolutionaries and anything inbetween. The hope is for all who are interested in circus arts to have a time to practice and perform together once a week! Newbies are welcome to join in the fun; there will be extra hula hoops to go around.

Drummers welsome to share music to move to!

Greetings all! I'm writing to finally announce the Chicago workshop on June 20. (Many thanks to Deb Pastor for opening up her space to us again this month.)

Join us for this 3 hour 2 part workshop in Chicago on June 20 with GlitterGirl. This is a mixed level workshop and will have something for all levels of skill. For beginners, come with an open mind. Returning students, intermediates and advanced performers, come with something in mind you'd like to take away with you and join us for this Chicago workshop on June 20 (with GlitterGirl) 3 hours

Interfuse 2007 Pre Burn Procession

If you are a fire performer and would like to participate in the pre
burn procession for Interfuse than please sign up with me so I can
get
you on the list of communications.
We will be having a sign in booth at the Mindlicker camp for all
performers and safety persons involved in the procession Saturday May
5th.We will be checking for safetys(and safety equipment), checking
perfomers equipment and doing last minute questions and answers.
Laminates will be issued at this time to gain access to the Inner
Circle during the pre burn procession.
If you have not signed up before the cutoff date of April 20th, you
will not be on the list and will not be issued a laminate.
Dont miss out because of procrastination, sign up soon as we only
have
8 more days till the deadlines.

So, Grinnell College's Dagorhir (foam sword fighting) club will be hosting a Renaissance faire on September 30th (Saturday) and we would love it if some fire spinners showed up. You can just come and hang out, do some spinning, whatever. Grinnell College is located in Grinnell, Iowa. I'll put time specifics of when the faire is starting/ ending up on this thread once I know what they are (the guy in charge is being slow). But yea, look forward to seeng some of you there!

FIowa M.A.G.E. Challenge

As you may know, the EDM stage for Mage is a lot of hardstyle music. I thought it would be interesting if people attempted to spin fire or hoop to hardcore since I have never seen it done. hey! This is Dan from iowa and I thought i'd get a tribe going for us Iowa fire spinners. We have been growing like mad rabbits so I thought we needed our own little pad. We welcome anyone and everyone who loves fire and fire tricks. If you have any input on well.. anything or just want to share some awesome photos or videos you should definately join up.
I've been going to some crzy midwest psy parties this spring and summer and i can't begin to tell you how amazing its been. The first time i saw fire i was completly hooked! Being able to perform and go nuts with such a powerful form of nature puts me into another world. I've seen this with every fire performer i've come across. There are soooo many! I think i've met a new person at every party i've been too. I really hope to get some people on here and learn as much as i can from you all! I want this to be a close tribe and i hope to see you all very soon! Don't forget us Iowans will go anywhere anytime for a good party!
