I am making this post across multiple tribes. I am not selling anything, so I hope no one mistakes it for spam. Rather, I am offering free advice and information. The blog is posted on my profile. Let me know what you think.

Yeah, it's spam. But I'm gonna let it stay until someone complains. I'll give the same advise you got somewhere else: Join the tech poi tribe.

Also, ANY time you aren't looking for discussion (like this post), please consider a "listing" instead.

Part of Tribe's definition of "spam":
"You will not post content: in inappropriate categories, with excessive frequency; in multiple categories or multiple cities; or with identical or substantially identical text or photography."

I will join the tech blog tribe...

It was my understanding that in order to be considered spam, either you had to be selling a product or service, or posting a link to a page that is selling a product or service. What I am offering is of course, free of charge.

No, that's the general use term for spam. It's also always referred to any unwanted messages. Regardless, tribe can post it's own definitions because a BBS is different from Mail.

No worries. I will take that into consideration with my future posts. I only posted to tribes that relate to poi spinning or fire arts, but in the future I will keep posts as the relate to my blog in the art of poi and tech poi tribes.

It's not just that. I love people posing here. Just browse the Terms of Use link below to see what tribe has to say about it. If you really want to get widely read, AND you insist on blog posting rather than putting it in tribes, then maybe you should consider befriending a lot of people in the poi community. Then your post automatically pops up on their home page....

The key is to use the technology in it's proper, and intended, form. Blogs post personal or semi-personal information to those in your friends list. Tribe threads are public (unless the tribe is private) and should be topics for discussion (as this has become). Listings are not just "for Sale" stuff, but can allow you to drop an email in the mailbox of everyone in a tribe or set of tribes. They can be responded to directly, or action can be taken via a link, etc.

In a way, you might want to start a Jonah's Tech poi Tribe, moderate it and announce in a listing whenever a new thread gets posted. This is kinda like what I do in the Fire Arts FAQ.
