I was wanting to get a fire Levi-stick and I can't find any place to buy them except 1 place in Stockholm, Sweden.
Anyone in the states making these or do I need to just suck it up and deal with international shipping.
I tend to prefer buying from Fire makers I know, so any of you guys making or planning on making these ? Tedward perhaps... * bats eyelashes*
Here's a link in case you haven't seen these before..

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Sat, November 8, 2008 - 8:00 PMAh! in the US the usual precedent/model for this is the magician's prop, the Floating or Dancing Cane. Many short books are available, and several videos.
This is an "invisible thread" trick and requires some skill with mime and movement technique, or it just looks like a stick on a string. I'm not sure how fire would affect performance or the illusion itself.
In this area (Portland OR), Jaine is quite accomplished. She's in Tribe and goes to Reed College (unless she graduated recently).

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Sat, November 8, 2008 - 8:18 PMYup, I've made a couple. Not my favorite product because the non-fire ones look so easy to use. What I recommend is that you get a non-fire version from Flow Toyz
www.flowtoys.com/product.php
then get back to me when you want a fire version. Depending on how elaborate you want them, I can do it for under $50 or well over $150. -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Sun, November 9, 2008 - 3:48 PMYeah I have the flow toys Flow wand , they are truely fun and very well made.
Also have a Led levi stick on the way from Salza to see how that one is ( looks alot thicker and heavier)
I'd like to get a fire one after I finish up Christmas shopping and done with spending lol
With it starting to get cold I won't be lighting up much outdoors anyway and I don't have a indoor place for fire.
I'm looking for one similiar in size to the flow wand ( I really like the size and weight, I've tried one of the Dancing canes and a bit big for my taste)
Small wicks, I think smaller would be better on this.
I'll get back with you after the craziness of Christmas is over for you to fix me up with a good one : D -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Mon, November 24, 2008 - 12:51 PMMake your own. It is really not that hard. Lightweight dowel, foot or so of wicking on both ends, or one end. (I like to make mine more like a cane, so I use fire on one end and have a metal skull on the other. That way I start my routine walking out like a crotchety ol' man with the bottom of the cane on fire. Then I spin it up so fire is on the top and undo my string which is taped cleverly on the cane. The hard part is getting the hole right that the string is tied through. Hold it with one hand by the thumb and index finger and move it around. Does it stay upright? When it does, that is where you drill the hole. Make sure it is centered perfectly. Now you need the kevlar string. By the way, I use an upholstry string on my nonfire one and it is black and no one can see it and therefore all amazed. When I do the fire one, even though I paint the kevlar string black, people say they can see the string. Fire tends to illuminate. Any suggestions? -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Fri, February 20, 2009 - 4:53 PMWhat would you base your pricing scale on? What's the difference between under 50 and over 150? I'm looking for a really nice one with actual decent weight and balance. (The salza ones are weighted poorly, and the wicks aren't as securely attached as I'd like.) They're look easy to use, but they seriously take a lot of work to do well. -

Fri, February 20, 2009 - 7:04 PMHave you ever used a set that didn't take work to do well? -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Fri, February 20, 2009 - 10:02 PMNo, I think I misread the 'easy to use' comment wrong. I thought you were saying the toy was lame or something because it was deceptively easy to use. My bad, I apologize
I am really serious about my pricing question though. What would $100 get me in a levi-stick that $50 won't. I am seriously on the market for some good ideas for a new fire levi-stick, as my Salza one underperformed. I really prefer the weighting of my flow wand, and am looking for a fire tool that handles in a similar manner. -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Sat, February 21, 2009 - 12:25 AMWell, I'm betting mostly near $50. I had one request to put spirals of metal, beads, gems, and paint it with the blood of a virgin slain under a full moon in a freshly budding Holly tree. :) I just like to prep for the worst. :) -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Sun, July 19, 2009 - 9:49 AMI'll be hitting you up soon, Tedward! I've been playing with my Flow Toys wand and have been exhausted trying to find a fire wand... I just ordered a new set of fire poi, so I must wait a few weeks... I'm not in the market for virgin blood decor, just a simple levistick that can be ignited :) -

Re: Fire Levi-sticks,anyone in US make them?
Sun, July 19, 2009 - 11:42 AMCool.
Oh, and without the virgin blood, I managed to squeeze it in under $50
