NYCAA's contemporary circus arts training is an exhilarating, artistic and unique experience for people of all ages, fitness levels and body types. Trial Classes begin with an orientation to NYCAA and a brief history of contemporary circus arts. Participants are led in a group warm-up, then rotate through a variety of different exercises, including beginner material from NYCAA courses including Dynamic Acrobatics (tumbling, trampoline, vaulting), Aerial Acrobatics (vertical silk, static trapeze), AcroBalance (hand balancing, pyramids) and Juggling. With the assistance of NYCAA instructors, participants learn the fundamentals of circus skills as seen in Cirque du Soleil, in a safe, structured and fun environment. Trial classes end with a demonstration by NYCAA instructors and current students. <br/> <br/>Trial Classes are conveniently located at NYCAA's 49th street Facility in Midtown, and are open to anyone interested in NYCAA courses. <br/> <br/>New York Circus Arts Academy is the largest circus school on the East Coast, and offers recreational and professional training, including the only Certificate in Circus Arts in the US. For those wanting to continue their circus arts training after Trial Class, registration is open for NYCAA 2008 Winter Term 1, which runs January 7th - February 24th. Our initial plan was to bring the structure back for another week of flying, however our touring schedule on the east coast has made that impossible.
