<div>does anyone know who that tall, skinny, long haired fella, with the platforms on was....... <br/>ya ya.....the one who was soooooo bold as to sit to the right of the tables and talk rude (prety much hate) on luke as he was playing records?.......and go as far as to say that he is soooooo much better of a dj than luke was.......and that luke sucked and needed to step off the decks so he could take over and show everyone on the dancefloor what a real dj soundz like......and proceeded to argue with me about how i was'nt seeing his point about how crappy the dj (luke) was........ <br/> <br/>sorry......i don't mean to stir up negative things but, this really blew my mind, and kinda pissed me off.....and i have'nt felt that way in a while.....and i tried not to take it personal, but it was creeping in like mad.....and he was really trying hard to draw someone into his chaotic, synical, and rediculouse sense of reality....... <br/> <br/>he emotionally firey saying somthing like......"i have been a dj here for almost ten years and i can tell you based upon my experience that this dj has no idea of what he is doing......this dj sucks....soooo let me up there so i can show everyone how its done"....... <br/> <br/>what i don't understand is........if i (we) have been up here (Arcata) for 7 years throwing positive gatherings consistently.....then were has this "superstar" dj been all our lives?.....i mean with skillz like he claimed why has'nt this fella stepped up and offered a mix of his to listen to like all the other dj's do?....why has'nt he become involved in our community?..... <br/> <br/>seriously.....everyone gets a fair chance.....our community (compared to ones i have been ivolved with in the past) is very open and considerate.....everyone is welcome <br/> <br/>so maybe that kid was having a bad day and wanted to drag people into it.....i can understand that..... <br/> <br/>but......i think if anyone knows this cat....they should let him know (since he wasn't listening to me) that he could have his chance to play if he can muster up a meezly representation of his talent.....and if the forum likes it....there is no reason why he should'nt be performing......it's that simple....or.....he can buy his own sound system and thorw his own parties so the whole world can experience his professionalism <br/> <br/>i will also say that its not only about talent....cause you could have the best artist in the world living here......but if the artist has a bad attitude.....or an "elitest" representation.....or nothing supportive to offer......well that shit is not gonna fly with our community.......that is not what we represent....we try to sustain a positive and progressive movement, and to nurture it and to help it grow.............. <br/> <br/>thanx for listening.....i needed to get that off my mind</div> <div> posted in <a href="http://tribes.tribe.net/firegarden">FIRE GARDEN</a> - 15 replies </div>
