I have recently begun hooping and I am dying to meet up with some fellow hoopers in the area! I live in Sarasota (at New College) but also frequent the Tampa area. Are there any hooping communities in either of these cities?

Actually, I just got funding from the SAC to bring my friend Raven down from Tampa to do a hooping class down by the bay, it starts this coming Wednesday at 6. I also go out to the Siesta drum circle to hoop every now and then. -

I am definitely down for getting together and hooping! I'm still pretty new at it also, and I can't do many tricks yet (around my knees and a little bit of up over my head, that sort of thing)... but we should definitely get together and practice -

Fri, March 7, 2008 - 9:04 AMyay - I can't wait! Unfortunately I have to work at the NC Fitness Center on Wed. from 5-10...I can try to sometimes get off for an hour, but I don't think I will be able to attend the hooping class regularly =(.

It's really hard for me to find people in this area. It would be so much fun. I've never done the Siesta drum circle (I heard it gets rowdy...)But I love going to the one on Nokomis beach (again, when I am home) -
