Re: Wow
Sun, December 24, 2006 - 11:13 PMYes, I'm pretty pleased with the line-up myself!
Most of these were the first people I asked, as well, some time ago, which is very gratifying. There were only a few later substitutions, but really, it's an embarrassment of riches in any case.
The big problem I had initially was choosing who to ask from among so many amazing dancers in both Northern and Southern California.
I actually haven't seen any of the choreographies yet myself, but I know what some of them are going to be and will include, and I'm thrilled! -

Tue, December 26, 2006 - 1:05 AMYou've probably already posted this somewhere else and I've missed it, but who's the choreographer? -

Re: Wow
Tue, December 26, 2006 - 10:06 AMEach group has done its own choreography to the section(s) in which they appear.
So it's very much a group effort.

Re: Wow
Tue, December 26, 2006 - 3:10 PMVarious dancers and groups have shared their ideas for the show with me, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds at the performances.
I'm just going on trust that everything will look great, which is why I have chosen these particular dancers; I have no worries. I've seen them all perform many times (and have also performed with most of them), and have always been blown away by their talent, inventiveness, artistic quality, etc.
This work presents a real challenge for many, not being accustomed to dancing to orchestral music, though these sections only comprise about one third of the whole work. I have total faith in each dancer and know that it's all going to be amazing!
