Dancing with the Snakes

Hi guys,

So, I was wondering if any of you samadhi tribe readers out there know anything (including tips, tricks, how-tos) about dancing with snakes. I know it's not the most traditional thing, and can be down right cheesy, but I find myself the proud new owner of two beautiful snakes and longing to try it out (for better or worse...probably worse, but I love them, what can I say?). They are both still babies so it will be a long time before I tried dancing with them, but I thought I should start researching now, as I would never want to harm these little jewels.

As a little info: my first is a Green Tree Python named Justin Wordsworth Smith. My second is a rosy boa (cream and red) named Sir Claudis. Right now neither one is more that a foot long (Justin is still yellow, actually). Like I said, it would be some time before I attempted to dance with either one, but I figured best to question now. I want to keep their best interests in mind. Hopefully, I can post pics soon.

    Hello,

I am not from Jax, but I live just donw the road from you (in Tallahassee). I have 5 snakes, have been a snake owner for 20 years (off and on) and got involved in reptile rescue about 8 years ago which rekindled my herping habit. I recently started dancing with my slithery friends, and started a tribe for us "Belly Dancing Snake Lovers/Snake Dancers": snakebellydancing.tribe.net/

    Hope you can join us!
