Get ready for a complete day of tribal workshops! Florida Tribal Dance hosts Onça and August of The Mezmer Society for a very special workshop package. We love their innovative and original performances at TribalCon, and couldn't be more excited to have them here in Florida!
Take advantage of our savings package and take two workshops with The Mezmer Society for the price of one!
Saturday, September 26th from 11AM to 2PM at the YOU Health Center
Narrative Bellydance
Out there dancing? Have something to say! This high-spirited, concept-driven class presents a range of evocative moods - spirited, celebratory, passionate, somber...maybe even a little bit of Evil. Onça has undertaken intense study of Narrative bellydance and is on a serious mission to nurture authentic self-expression among the world's Tribal Fusionistas. This class is GREAT for getting dancers laughing, building community, and making memories.
Raks Vaudevillia: Foxy or Folkloric?
It's all how you handle the big stick. Cane, or 'Raks Assaya', is a traditional woman's dance art that offers tremendous creative expression to Fusion, Burlesque, and Vaudeville artists. Building on the bellydance vocabulary, we drill sustainable cane technique and explore combos with attitude. Great for developing both troupe precision and the theatrical face of fusion.
$50 in advance/$55 at the door gets you into the back-to-back workshops! Space will be limited, so register today.
Still hungry for more? Following Onça and August, stay for Something Old, Something New: The Art of Tray Balancing from 3-5PM.
Lacey and Laura break down the tips and tricks of balancing, including discussion on the history of the tray dance, and constructing your own tray. Learn how-do-they-do-that combos designed to impress your audience. Trays will be available for use in the workshop.
$30 in advance/$35 at the door.
