I did post about it in my "rate this event" post. Maybe I should message Emily and see if that could be an option for next year? They could have more vendors that way too... All we would need is that one little block of street and it would have been soooo much better.

In his defense he was trying to play counterpoint to an African beat called Funga, but he couldn't hear it well enough to do the complex beat that was required and he was a 1/2 beat slow. When I asked him if I could play it I brought it back to a simple 4/4 and continued a basic drill that halfed the beats until the notes I played were the equivalent of 16th notes. Then back to the 1/4 notes, halfing to 1/8ths, then onto 16ths then back to 1/4 notes until everyone joined back in. He was a really good player, just needed a more intimate setting with strong African beats. The drum circle was maybe not the time or place for his witty repartee.
