Sun, April 20, 2008 - 7:34 AMThat was a massive amount of people. How is one expected to swing a sword in such a crowd? -

Re: Come and see FTDancers at Dandelion Cafe Tomorrow!!
Sun, April 20, 2008 - 7:44 AMLOL! Exactly!! But it was the horny drunks that were pissing me off the most. I had to get out of there. I did worry some of my bellybudds with my abrupt exit and I'm sorry for worrying people. I just had to get out of there... My claustophobia was kicking in and add obnoxious drunks to that mix and I was ready to swing my sword at them!
Maybe next year they can get a permit to close down that section of Thornton and be able to have it spread to the street more. If there was more room it might not have been so bad. -

Re: Come and see FTDancers at Dandelion Cafe Tomorrow!!
Sun, April 20, 2008 - 8:17 AMYeah, no kidding.
We must've found a safe haven from them over by the road side of the circle; all we had to worry about was a guy who wasn't playing the cowbell on the beat. My lady said to us, "needs less cowbell," went over, asked if she could play it, and brought the clang back to rightness.
The street party is a great idea. I'll plant the seed in their minds if you will. -

Better Luck Next Year....
Sun, April 20, 2008 - 8:38 AMI did post about it in my "rate this event" post. Maybe I should message Emily and see if that could be an option for next year? They could have more vendors that way too... All we would need is that one little block of street and it would have been soooo much better.

Re: Come and see FTDancers at Dandelion Cafe Tomorrow!!
Sun, April 20, 2008 - 8:46 AMIn his defense he was trying to play counterpoint to an African beat called Funga, but he couldn't hear it well enough to do the complex beat that was required and he was a 1/2 beat slow. When I asked him if I could play it I brought it back to a simple 4/4 and continued a basic drill that halfed the beats until the notes I played were the equivalent of 16th notes. Then back to the 1/4 notes, halfing to 1/8ths, then onto 16ths then back to 1/4 notes until everyone joined back in. He was a really good player, just needed a more intimate setting with strong African beats. The drum circle was maybe not the time or place for his witty repartee. -
