After having my insurance deny this treatment as 'experimental' for six months, we finally borrowed the money to pay for the first infusion. If it can be demonstrated by bloodwork that I'm better, the insurance company has agreed to take over the cost of the treatments, which I will need monthly. If it works. The infusions are $6,000.00 a pop, because the product has to be made for each patient, each time. It is made with the particular stuff you personally are deficient in, and only keeps for six days.
They make it according to your latest blood work, so it will always be tailored for exactly what you need NOW. These guys are alchemists!
I had my first infusion eight days ago. It took 6 hours. I had no symptoms during the infusion, but the next three days were pretty miserable. Awful headache. The good news was, I slept at least 16 hours a day. I couldn't sleep enough. It was a deep, hard sleep. Very vivd dreams, as if REM had returned with a vengeance.
My energy levels are almost back to a normal person's. My sleep schedule is better. There have been days when I was almost pain free. I am less depressed.
Things come and go, like lights flickering. The doctor said I am 'rebooting'. This first infusion was a shock to my system; we have to do it again next month to tell if it's actually going to be of long-term benefit.
Again, this is experimental, but if it works this could open up a whole new world for us all. My neurologist believes that someday soon it will become the standard treatment for inflammatory illness.
