Differant storkes for differant folks. I found my home in Narcotics Anonymous. I have choosen this Fellowship as a Way of Life. I'm an addict. I know where i belong. I doubt very much that back in 1953 there where a couple of addicts sitting around the shooting gallery shooting dope & talking about starting a 12 Step Program. IT clearly states in our Basic Text How and Why NA was started.{ Chapter 8 We Do Recover} Addicts were dying in AA. So alongs comes a man named Jimmy K. & a handful of addicts. Started in July of 1953 what we now know as Narcotics Anonymous. Don't get me wrong I'm no AA basher. i am truly grateful for them helping us pave the Way. So here we are almost 53 years later a worldwide Fellowship. As a Grateful Proud Member of Narcotics Anonymous the Message I carry to the Newcomer isn't , it doesn't matter where you go to Recover. The Message I carry is "If your an addict Welcome Home U don't need to go anywhere eles!!! NA WORKS!!!" I believe in 1 Disease 1 Program 1 Fellowship 1 Promise.... FREEDOM!!!! I'm no Nazi. I JUST LOVE NA!!!!! A PLACE WHERE ADDICTS CAN CALL HOME...

Re: One Disease One Program. O.D.O.P.!!!
Tue, October 9, 2007 - 2:12 PMI, too, found my home in NA after being kicked out of an AA meeting for saying I was an alcoholic/addict. I was told I could not talk about my addiction, to which I asked if it was OK to talk about my recovery. I've learned alot about recovery since I found the rooms of NA, and I'm grateful to the addicts who came before me. And for the newcomers, I know that this program works, cause I'll have 20 years in December and I didn't think I would ever get 30 days.
