~How do you know when you've met your master? Teacher's come in all sizes, shapes and at (often) unexpected times and in (nearly always) unanticipated ways. It's been years since the passing of Master Jinn, but I recently aligned with my new teacher for however far this stretch of the Path takes me :)~

Re: master & apprentice
Fri, February 9, 2007 - 10:13 PMI'm not sure how I make the decision as to who is my teacher and who is my student.
I guess it's a matter of if someone seems more knowledgeable and wiser than I am, and they seem willing to teach me, then I "adopt" them as my teacher.
If someone seems in need of guidance, and I have that guidance to give, and they are willing to receive that guidance, than I "adopt" them as my student.
I often thought of my teachers in school as my 2nd, 3rd, 4th fathers, or 3rd, 4th and 5th uncles, etc. I.E., mentally, if I trusted them, I saw them as an extra father or uncle-figure. Or mother/aunt-figure, if the person was female.
I guess my method of intuiting who is my teacher/student is rather, uh, intuitive, LOL!

Re: master & apprentice
Fri, February 9, 2007 - 11:33 AMI feel like I am in a circle of padawans and we are all trained more in different areas, and we are teaching each other.
I'd like to call in, now, a Master to become an apprentice to. There are many Masters yet, none come to mind that are trained as I wish to be trained.
