~To evolve as a being in the Force, one must grow in their Force abilities by enhancing their connection with the Force. This is a two-fold path, inward and outward, that must be walked simultaneously and with focused self-discipline. Presently, I am walking the outward path by training with the group of martial artists I came upon at the bend in the river; through interaction with them I am deepening my sensitivity to all living things, all movement and flows of energy. To walk the inward path, I am keeping my awareness on something my late master, Qui-gon Jinn, reminded me of often.
"Do not focus on your anxieties, Aiki, they have little to do with this manifesting moment of the Living Force. And you need not make that face; you're not the first Padawan I've have to remind so." I was, unfortunately, the last. I sit daily with the meditation of 'letting go'...of the anxieties themselves and the ever arising petty events, circulating thoughts or old emotion patterns that that give rise to them.
What are you, the other Force adepts who've found their Way here, working on? How are you going about it?
May a fuller understanding of the Living Force be with you,
Aiki Jorin-ne'

Re: walking the two-fold path
Sat, April 15, 2006 - 7:11 AM...'BE the Force'...exactly. Know thyself and in so know all things. Wonderful practice, Zachar. I have seen many of these worlds, some so different as to challange the senses, yet some quite similar to this one I'm on now. All of Creation is symbiotic and we should not forget this understanding or we fight the Way of things, we fight the Living Force, we fight even ourselves.
Thank you for the reminder!

Re: walking the two-fold path
Sun, April 16, 2006 - 4:50 PMYeesh. I'm obsessed with Darth Vader.
I guess my story(s) mostly are either regarding Vader, or some ideas I've had since childhood.
But I have never officially written any of them. Just rolled them around in my head.
Or are you referring to a question I should have answered, i.e., the two-fold path? ;) -

I will not bore you with them. :)

Re: walking the two-fold path
Sat, June 17, 2006 - 11:21 AMI forgot you had said this. That you actually want to hear my story.
Ok, you asked for it. ;) I'm not sure how much this will deepen your connection with the Living Force, but...
Something hit me over the head. The Force, the butt of someone's lightsaber, not sure which. ;) And about 3 or 4 weeks ago, out poured "Darth Sentinel".
It's not finished... I'm technically on chapter 19 of my rough draft. Every one or two days I post a chapter after vigorous editing. I've posted 11 chapters so far.
You can find it up at darthsentinel.blogspot.com/
It may seem pretty corny. Ok, it *is* pretty corny. Major corn-on-the-cob corny, maybe. :) A friend commented on it to me in email, and the phrase "Harlequin Romance" came up. ;) Which now that I really think about it, yeah, that's pretty much what it is! My friend couldn't see Vader acting the way he does in this story. But then, he also hasn't seen Episodes II or III, and hasn't seen how head-over-heels in love Anakin was with Padme. He never got to see Anakin react to the news of Padme's death.
Darth Vader and Darth Sentinel are the main characters. And Darth Sentinel is female, and has always had a major crush on Darth Vader, for reasons she just can't quite understand, but accepts without question. You get to see that Vader still has a human side, even after having turned to the Dark Side, and having to live inside an environmental suit.
More I won't say. I don't know where this story came from. I mean, I've always rather had a "thing" for Vader myself. I think it stems from the fact that my Dad, when angry, would emanate that anger in much the same way Vader did. And my Dad has always had this .... presence. When he walked into a room, you felt it. Ditto Vader, obviously. And daughters tend to be attracted to men who are like their Father, for good or ill. [Thankfully my Dad is also an awesome person!]
That, and it was almost as if I sensed Lucas had bigger plans for the Dark Lord than just the aspect of being a villain. Somehow I picked up that Vader was who the trilogy, and eventually all 6 movies, were about. Tragedy, lost love, redemption.
Anyway, enjoy. :) Try to be gentle... this is my first fanfic attempt.

Re: walking the two-fold path
Sun, June 18, 2006 - 10:46 AM~Snoopy, this is perfect right on this thread; thanks for posting! I'm cramped for time right now but will certainly check into your blog site and story line. I'm a part-part-part-time writer myself and there's nothing like letting characters and stories move through you. That's how Darth Vex showed up...just been too busy to open myself to more of his story just now. And I believe that these are the connections that deepen our understanding of the Force; being open, receptive, manifesting, feeling, choosing, knowing...
Yours in the Living Force,
Aiki :)

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: walking the two-fold path
Mon, June 19, 2006 - 10:18 AMIt's weird, but yeah, the characters have developed a life all their own for me.
I hope you enjoy the story. :) Thanks for checking it out, when you have the time. :)
Looking forward to your finishing the Darth Vex story. But no pressure. ;)

P.S. The photo is of me, either in Truk or Palau. Can't remember which, but it was the same scuba diving vacation. The water was a very comfortable 82 degrees. :) -

Re: walking the two-fold path
Sat, August 12, 2006 - 8:36 AM~I know of the Earth that is a point I can find inside myself; like a dark, quiet cave rooted in the center of the Universe~
~I know of the Air that informs my being--each breath all breaths--an unending conversation with the Eternal~
~I know of the Water that runs into me from Elsewhere, through all that conceives me on multiple levels and on off again to Otherrealm; the binder of all things~
~I know of the Fire that infuses my spirit and reality; when we touch, we burn with the passion that is Life~
~So why this struggle to 'know' Oneness? What is this veil that teases with ephemeral images behind it? But there!...and there again!...the Magick occures. One Perfect Instant and then it is gone again. Or...to quiet, to let go of this earthly clutter...the Magick is everywhere, a constant that can be overwhelming when truly perceived. Perhaps it is no more than my own choice to wear blinders... -

Re: walking the two-fold path
Sun, August 13, 2006 - 8:27 AMI was just like Darth Vader in a past life. Now I understand that anger hides pain so I am exploring sadness in order to let it pass out me. -

Re: walking the two-fold path
Wed, August 16, 2006 - 7:00 AM~I, too, have past-life shadows where I know great wrong or evil was done by me. A great lesson, part of what created the me of today. The Two-fold Path is to see it clearly without clinging or negative dwelling; to learn, grow, forgive and move on. Thanks, Panther~
In the fullness of the Force,
Aiki
