New member of this tribe. I am home on disability and it might become permanent, so I'm collecting recipes for lemonade (since I was handed a bowl of lemons.) I thought it might be interesting to collect items from thrift stores and yard sales to make fountains. Just yesterday, I found a perfect, smallish, porcelain sink in a local thrift store for only a couple of bucks! Not sure what exactly my first fountain will look like, but I'll post a photo or two once (if? lol!) I get it finished.

Wine Barrel Fountain

I saw this wine barrel fountain for sale on craigslist. I wrote to the owner to see if I could take a look at it, or where they are available for sale, or where plans could be obtained, but haven't heard back yet.
Anyone know anything about this fountain? I just found a free wine barrel on cl right here in my own town and want to make one.
Thx.

Hi everyone!

I am in the process of opening a brand spankin' new (and my very first!) store in New Buffalo, MI. The name of my store is 'Superfly' and we will be specializing in t-shirts, jewelry, vintage purses, home accents and original arts & crafts! I am currently looking for artists, artisans and crafters that might be interested in putting items in the store on a consignment basis. I would love to carry some water features!

The store is located in a big, upper-class art community area and you would get plenty of exposure for your work! So anyway, if you might be interested, please feel free to drop me a line either here on Tribe or to my email addy: superflystore@gmail.com

Thanks for reading my post and I look forward to speaking with all soon!!

and no one is inside on their computers. I am in the planning stages for a small cascading spill to a small pond at my new little house (the front of which can be seen on my blog). So the back is going to be mostly a garden. The yard is not large. I haven't figured out yet if the spill will start from a spitter or a urn yet, but it will flow down a couple of levels of rock and basins to a small gold fish pond. It will give height, water, sound, bird bath, and butterfly muddle. I will post pictures as it goes into construction stages. I don't move in until June 1

I like making water fountains and would like to know others of like mind

This is my first topic (I started to send individual messages to all members of this tribe - whoops)

Anyway, if you know anyone in New England (I live in Boston) with a similar interest, I would love to connect with them.

Candle Ideas

I had an idea to build a fountain out of a think column candle. The candle should be about 6 to 7 inches tall. It should be cored, (remove about a half inch to an inch around all the way down in the center) with several holes drilled from the circumfrence to the core at the bottom. At the top, the center core should be widened enough for a votive candle to sit with about 1/8 inch room on all sides and deep enough to just see the top of the votive candle. The top of the candle should me molded decoratively. Set complete assembly in decorative bowl.
