Re: Article on Evocation
08/12Thank you Taylor for your article on Evocation. It was one of the best explanations of the concept and its operation. I have read a number of things on it that were more confusing than enlightening. I agree with your description of the evoked entities as real beings. My perception is that they exist on that deeper level of "reality" that we experience/interact with as the noumenon withing manifested phenomena. By evoking them we are in essence seeking to align them with the metaphoric perception of that noumenon that is our experience of "reality".
I have always been drawn to the process of "impregnation". I have used it with various degress of success with items as diverse as posters, statuary, and even articles of clothing. In the case of the latter it is my practice to evoke entities into the various articles of Ritual Garb I employ and salute/greet them each time that I don them.
I have wondered if a locus or defined space cannot be successfully impregnated. I haven't tried to do so and wonder if you have any experience with such. I have a sense that an existing Magickal "workplace" with an inscribed circle might be used to evoke. -

Re: Article on Evocation
08/12Well the painting I've impregnated are actually defined spaces by virtue of the the limitation of the medium. In fact I think of media as a defined and designed space. The designing of it is the impregnation and at the same time the manifestation of a highly localized specific space.
Beyond that I have done power spot workings with the land where I impregnate specific spots of the land and create a leyline grid, where I connect those spots so that the entire area becomes a defined space. In that context you could create a circle from the land and even make a sigil within it from power spots.
I created one by using my spit and the sun as the medium of impregnation. The sun imprinted the spit sigils into the land spots and then manifested the power spot, along with a painting that served as a kay and central focus for the working.

Re: Article on Evocation
08/14Thank you 'very' much, for your presenting your paintings in the article. I happily sensed a romping influence of early Paul Klee and Wasilly Kandinsky, of which it continued to inspire me and interact specifically with my inner chackras in a very intuitive understanding of what your captions were describing. Very very nice. :)
I agree, evocation can be facilitated in differing degrees, different aspects relegated to the back or to the forefront in focus or quality/quantity of focus, therefore presentation or interaction with the evoked being and purpose of the communication.
I wish you well,
Chuck
