Large Corrugated Pipe Wheels

Some friends and I are into fashioning some mutant bikes. We want to make a trike with those amazing plastic corrugated pipe wheels.

Here's a look at a heavier duty, double-wide version using a car rim (click the "View Full Size Image [+]" link to really check it out). We need to go smaller and thinner without anything as big as a car rim of course:

http://cliffypop.com/galleryhop/2007/Stache/BurningMan2007-299.JPG

Problem is these pipes only come new in expensive 20 ft lengths. We probably need less than 3 ft.

Anyone have an idea about where to pick this pipe up for cheap? We've been calling around for scraps without much luck.

Would love any ideas for lightweight hubs and custom spoke ideas too. Thanks.

minibikes are the basis of the zoobomb
in portland they can take minibikes on the max train to the zoo on top of the hill and then bomb down

minibikes are also used by the sprockettes dance group

we made some collapsable minibikes that we could hide in duffle bags and take on a bus up burnaby mountain and bomb down

Hey all yall.....I'm the fifth member eh. Well, I just wanted to say hey and let you all know I was here (Like you wouldn't have been able to notice). I am from phx, but currently working in colorado. I have been involved with the pedal cab movement for over 11 years in the phx area. I love mountain biking and crazy art bikes. I have a few of my own. Since I am not from your area I'll probably just be a fly on the wall unless something jumps out at me. Know anyone from phx point em to me.....cheerios Jason

thanks for setting up this tribe

i have uploaded some pictures and i will get some of my people to join

our latest news from the margaret charles chopper collective
is we have had a wonderful party this weekend celebrating the first anniversary of our collective
http://mcthree.ca

several visitors from washington state stayed and played with us
we had chopper rides and parties and a public art treasure hunt
and i think we do way more here as bike culture than just art bikes
and critical mass

sculpture, cycling, recycling, performances, choptext poetry, celebration, rides, fireworks, pedal picnics, camping in bike shops, homebrew and bc bud, skinnydipping and more

we exchange visits with bike art and culture groups in portland and seattle

we do not have off-the-shelf choppers with nice paint
in fact our paint jobs are bad

what is your chopper gang like?
