Intentions

Greetings,
in keeping in line with the intentions for this gathering as created by Shiva, I thought it would be helpful to mention the aspect of 'Intentions'.

What is our true purpose? Collectively and individually?

What gifts do we bring to our fellow circle travellers?

What intention(s) are we individually creating before coming to this event? What is it that we would like to experience in our magickal work, seperately and collectively?

Though I myself am just beginning this process now for the up coming event, I welcome others to share. Coming from Fire Rising, which was about community service, I came back to 'the world' and experienced a vast amount of people who have created walls of fear. As I see it now, they are incapable of letting love in when this occurs, for the fear blocks them from what could be. In fact some become so focused from this that they are unable to see any other way of being.

This previous realization will have an effect on what my intentions are for the upcoming event. I am unsure how this will gel together at this time, but look foward to sharing my heart with any who are open to experiencing love, tolerance, community, patience, forgiveness.........and of course FUN!

peace

Good thread!! My intention in creating this gathering was to bring some of the magic of the Rainbow Gatherings to Sacred Fire Festivals. Some of the great things about gatherings are:

Rainbow Gatherings are free (and so open to anyone regardless of fnancial status)
They operate on a 'gift economy' where everyone brings things to share.
All work is done by volunteers.
They are held in the wilderness (you can go to a gathering for weeks and not see a car!)

As luck would have it we will be able to share the magic of the Sacred Fire Festival with the Rainbow gathering that synchronistically is happening at the same spot on the same weekend. I've been to some very nice Rainbow fires but they tend to be social events with some drumming and not ritual fire circles. As Rainbows tend to be very anarchistic and full of individualists it is hard to come to even basic agreements (e.g having drummers leave room for dancers) which makes forming a tight sacred fire circle with intention next to impossible. So what I am going to do is create a flier for our Fire event which will be happening about a mile away from the gathering. On the flier will be some basic guidelines for our event such as keeping conversations outside the fire circle etc. I am hoping that this flier will attract people who are drawn to the spiritual element of the event and keep away random 'observers'.

No doubt that the influx of people new to Sacred Fire Circles will have an effect on this Fire Circle but I am very happy to be introducing the concept of the sacred fire circle to the Rainbow Gathering. I think that the spiritual ideals of the Rainbow Gatherings have been somewhat diluted over the years and I would love to be a part of injecting a little fire magick into the heart of the Rainbow.
