Hey everyone
Well, its possibily a controversial decision I believe, as the lass who posted up her XBash 2007 tribes.tribe.net/freehuggingtheworld
seems very legit....but I chose to delete her open invite.
Reason is that it emphasises nudity in a sexualised way as the FIRST port of call (not an organic result that some may take in the course of the evening)
To me, and a reason I set this site up, is to keep the ideas and networking to be a hug giving resource, to take it to the streets, and to bring some joy to people. When I have done it, it brightened up peoples lives for a day, and have may inspired them from not jumping over a bridge...I dunno, but the possibilities are endless.
And, well, sexualisation/nudity is completely out of the picture.
As much as I see XZanthia M from her bio to be totally legit in her wish for the invite to be on this site, and have been to a few like hers myself - and it looks like it will be pretty good... the door is opened to those NOT LEGIT. And crap like that happens, unfortunately. Then oncomes the real fullon moderation...
eg I am a MT, and have been a member of various yahoogroups. A lot of people equate CONTINUE to equate MT with sex. A real shit for our industry. Eh.
Some are real postings, but soon its taken over by the sex industry, and most MTs jump ship.
Which I dont want to see here.
btw I have kept the XBash up in the listings - so you can make up your own minds
If there is a better reason for keeping it here on the main page, I will do so. I am only the servant. But I have seen things go awry in the past.
No offense to Ms X/M and her choices of lifestyle - go for it. Neither do I wish to set myself up as a point to rebel against, casting myself as an Authority™ (gawd knows there's enough reallife atrocious authorities to really pay attention to in the world)
I am just being a sensible and trustworthy moderator based on observations and personal experiences....

I myself am a fan of sex, hugging, and hugging while having sex, but the free hug movement doesn't need to be demonized by anyone. We already have enough social taboo boundaries to break through. :)

Been absconded in Berlin with my new partner, so I have been away from the tribe a bit....but back at least for now! :)
I dont think she was coming close to demonising anything, just that I think it takes people off the focus. Its a subtle energy, delivering sex-free hugs to people of all places, ages and spaces...so with a jedi mind, you have to use the force powerfully, and that means focus.
What does shit me about a lot of sites is the moderation is crap. So, better to do so then complain so

I figured your were doing the Berlin thing. How's it going? I'm heading to Italy in June for a bit. Still planning on France next year.
