Have you ever noticed that the so-called war on terrorism seems to have a greater focus on restricting civil liberties than the actual act of stopping terrorism? That's why I believe that stopping terrorism will eliminate the "need" to restrict civil liberties. Now I'm suddenly reminded of the "death of a thousand cuts" deal. That is, the civil liberty restrictions may be "minor" now, but many years of further "minor" restrictions will eventally turn the U.S. into a totalitarian state. Ho ve and ti' estas viv'!
