Thanks for being here! I hope this tribe can benefit those who are seeking a place to safely come to. Please introduce yourself and add any info you would like to share with the group! If you know others with like freethinking minds, invite them as well.

Warm Regards,

I'm forever jumping into tribes & discussions without "properly" introducing myself, but since you asked so nicely...

My name is I-dra, but some folks call me I-dee. I respond equally to either. I birthed my first baby, a boy named Solomon Elijah, on November 9, 2006 at 12:47 am. We did it at a birth center here in Oregon, out on the coast. I enjoyed having a baby, for the most part & wasn't really scared at all. I read alot of Ina May during my pregnancy, so I felt pretty well prepared. Although when I realized I was in labor, I forgot almost everything & had to call my MW, Dena, to remind me what was going on! My labor was extremely painful in my lower back & Dena decided it may have been due to some scar tissue from an old surgery I had when I was 16. If/when I birth another baby, I hope the scar tissue will have loosened up enough that I will feel confident to push my baby out with minimal assistance. For my full birth story, please visit my blog. It's not too far back. In my headspace now, I'm not ready to consider a UP/UC, but I love to learn about women's birth experiences, especially natural births. Much Love to all here. Shalom.

Hello! My name is Felicity. I am a stepmom and hoping to be a bio-mom next year. I am in the process of acquiring as much information about being pregnant and having a child as I can. I am also a right-leg amputee and am curious how that will affect my pregancy and raising a child. I am thankful that I get to be a part of this group. And hope that I can learn a lot from everyone, as well as share in my experiences as they happen. Thank you for letting me be here.

hi. I'm new! :) Pregnant, living in Ontario, Canada, and muchly misunderstood by local community, but still happy as can be with this new process- feel man transformations on many levels happening, spiritually, physically, emotionally, etc, as of yet (still just 26 weeks pregnant, but it's amazing the stuff you can find out about yourself in subtleties and with inner ears opened!) really excited to see all these people who take the journey to/of womanhood (motherhood) seriously. Finding much inspiration. Had been going through some trials in that hardly anybody in this vicinity is very supportive of my sense of spirituality (including midwives who might as well just be people with textbooks and pokey instruments and very little enthusiasm, and doulas more afraid of childbirth than I am :))- but thus learning that I am capable of supporting my own strength of spirit, relaxing, and staying positive and in love with the process. Chris (my man) is very supportive and lovely. Everything is increasingly amazing to me when I stay open to the sense of wonder... Really excited to give birth and start new life.

But it is just so refreshing to know there are people out there who "get it". so hi.
