I didn't think it would be very good, but a friend told me the secret is to fill the cup 3/4 of the way full of water and microwave for 3 minutes. The obnoxious yowling seems to stop after about 2x minutes in the microwave. You just let the cup steep for another 3-5 minutes depending on your preference and viola, kitten tea. I like mine with a little honey.
