Today, Sherwood Country Park is a heritage site of international significance, with annual visitor figures of around 500,000. With many conservation and ‘green’ agencies such as English Nature, the Countryside Commission and the Nature Conservation Council, committed to its management aims of “sustainable development of its natural resources, heritage and scientific interest, and the enjoyment and education of its visitors.Inspired by the legend of Robin Hood: championing the community; promoting sustainable living; capturing myths and magic and respecting the past to influence and inspire the future.Robin Hood’s story and myth has undergone a lot of transformation in the centuries it has been around. With the themes that have been infused into the tales- nobility, self sacrifice, philanthropy, fighting for the Greater Good, it is likely that the story of Robin the Hood will endure. Because conservation and fighting for the greater good is always worthwhile.
