I think this just outrageous, and I support his idea to sue. Humiliaion galore! What do you think?

Sue - yes but $2m. No.
Never a great fan of punitive damages. Something reasonable...

"Sue - yes but $2m. No."

I also agree with suing, and in principle agree that the amount is high...

      BUT...

...you also have to take into consideration that judges (however much they may tell you different) will tend to gauge the seriousness of the complaint based on the dollar amounts involved -- you sue fer too little, the judge may think you're just being petty and 'nuisance suing'...

I think it's funny. I don't think he should sue. He should be offered a free round trip flight to anywhere Jet Blue flies, I think.

Personally, I'd prefer sitting in the lavatory of a plane over sitting next to an extremely overweight person on a full flight or a screaming baby.

I don't mind hogging the loo and charging users :)

If the media is correct, didn't they try to help the guy with his 'buddy pass'?

Yea, I think that's right...but regardless, this guy was a passenger and shouldn't have been forced to move because a flight attendant wanted to be more comfortable.

What's happening on planes these days? I've heard the most ridiculous stuff in the last few months. Man oh man!!!

Well, I think 'wind shear', only happened once in history, which is amazing odds against safety, and all else, makes any problems less likely than a lightning strike.
With the things caused by a few unprofessional people, it's normal, but unacceptable.

I don't know what kind of corporate culture Jet Blue has, but I have been a flight attendant for more years than I will admit to, and can't imagine MY company EVER caring whether or not I was comfortable let alone asking a passenger to move for my convenience. I was once asked to give up my seat (I was not flying free, but had paid full price for my ticket over the holidays) to accomodate someone who had gotten on the plane without checking in properly (obviously this was pre 9/11), and was in the lav when we left the gate. The captain didn't want to take a delay to return to the gate, so I sat on the jumpseat for a 4 hour flight, and then had to threaten a lawsuit to get my ticket price refunded! I guess I should be glad there was a jumpseat available--no WAY would I sit in the lav!
