In 2007 the World Wildlife Fund for Nature in Australia organized the first Earth Hour. An estimated 2.2 million people in Sydney turned off their lights and all non-essential electronics for sixty minutes to promote electricity conservation.

Earth Hour has gone international in 2008 with partner cities all over the globe. All you have to do is turn off your lights and non-essential electrical items for sixty minutes at 8pm local time this Saturday.
