Here's a discussion topic:
If you are considering, or have had, bottom surgery, which would be your choice? Phalloplasty, Metoidioplasty, or some other alternative modification? Why would you choose this way?
I'm thinking if I ever get the money together and decide to do it, I'd definitely go for metoidioplasty. I call it the Cock&Balls Model Kit. To me it looks relatively natural and proportionate to itself - even though it's disproportionally small to the whole body. Phalloplasty gives you size but it just doesn't look right to me & I'd be unhappy with that.
Any opinions?

I had phalloplasty surgery done in 98 and it looks pretty good...I have erotic sensation since I had nerve grafting done. There are some pretty amazing surgeons out there that are quite skilled at their craft. The phalloplasty is wrought with more complications than the metoidioplasty but I still would have opted for phalloplasty. I guess it all depends on what you want to use your new dick for...with the metoidioplasty you can pee standing up but yuou won't have much length when erect. Alternatively the phalloplasty offers length and girth as well as the ability to stand and pee. If you do opt for the phalloplasty and you don't want to sacrifice sensation make sure that your surgeon is comfortable with nerve grafting. There is one other alternative that I might have chosen and that is to get the metoidioplasty done first and then if I could,'t live with those results I would get the phalloplasty done on top of it. You should check out Dr Hage's work he's from amsterdam.

Tue, March 21, 2006 - 3:35 PMthats what i would have considered, the metoidioplasty first, unfortunatley the medical advances in phalloplasty fall far short of the kind of advances in MTF surgery. Id be happy to wait for better results, after all you only ever have 1 body...
