Hey, guys - has anybody had a problem with estrogen topping their T after awhile? I am in the crazy place of having a damn period after a year and a half of peace. This is unbearable and it's going to take forever to figure it out - have to wait for it to be over a week or so to run new tests - have to experiment with dosages again - I feel like demanding a straight testosterone IV.
I am using a compounded gel of Testosterone and DHEA. Was getting slow but decent results - chin whiskers, voice change, etc - and now this. Frankly I'm devastated.

Re: Hormonal Backlash
Mon, September 17, 2007 - 5:24 AMHey Brody,
I know what you mean. I've been getting full shots of T for a year, and I don't know what the issue is. I'm thinking it's because I've been at school and my stress level is up and just life in general has made my monthly come back. I haven't been able to get to Philly to get my twice monthly shots (and not to mention, my bills and everything else has been kicking my ass) or it maybe because my cat likes to give me massages on my belly and around my inner feminine organs that the monthly "bitch" came back. I was not a happy camper when I saw what I saw! (:( But, I'm still growing my facial hair and every now and again, I check my back in the bathroom mirror, and my back hair is still growing and I'm still popping wood in the morning.
So, what I've done is, I've asked my case manager at a clinic that I go to to get my T shots, is if I can get my shots increased to 1.5 more, so that I don't have to deal with the monthly "bitch" again. I can't afford to have the major sugery just yet.
I wouldn't stress out too much, if I were you. I would just keep in contact with the doctor and find out what's going on.
Hang in there,
Sebastian

Re: Hormonal Backlash
Tue, September 18, 2007 - 11:18 AMHey guys. This happened to me after about a year and a half on T. I went to the Dr., got checked up. All looked good and it hasn't happened since. I think the ovaries are strong mothers that want to remind us every now and then that they're still there. It's a good idea to stay in touch with your Dr. about it. But it seems to happen to a lot of guys I've talked to. I think high stress, irregular dose, .. things like this can have an effect.
I still get cramps... especially when my girlfriend is on her period. Her cycle is the alpha. Haha. I keep half expecting to start bleeding again, but I haven't the time I mentioned above (which was a little over a year ago).

Wed, September 26, 2007 - 11:02 AMThanks for the feedback, it at least feels good to know I'm not a puss and it's happened to other guys, too. My doc did double my 'script so maybe that's what it took to get that done. And I will be doing concentrated research and keeping in closer contact with her. -

Re: Hormonal Backlash
Thu, October 4, 2007 - 9:33 PMi haven't been on as long but I take 2 weeks 200mg delatestryl and I missed my shot 1 time and I got my bloods about the appropriate time as if i'd ovulated on the day I should have had my shot, or that week sometime. I think my body was just waiting and the drop in week 3 of the previous cycle provided that... but that was enough of a reminder of why I never miss a shot. Also sometime i get a little bloods from rough front bottoming, but its usually gone pretty quick.

Re: Hormonal Backlash
Sun, October 7, 2007 - 3:03 PMYep, I'm in another one today. Not stressing too much this time, though - all your feedback is helping me to stay low-key which has to help. Kind of expected it anyway, it takes awhile for the body to re-adjust. We'll see what happens next month - and hopefully this will be a short one.
Thanks! -

Re: Hormonal Backlash
Mon, October 8, 2007 - 3:21 PMLOL! I know you're probably not in the mood to laugh, but we must be on the same monthly "bitch" cycle lol! I'm just recovering from an anxiety attack. My body's telling me that I need to chill the fuck out. Thank Goddess that my t-shot is coming this Friday. I'm seriously considering doing my own t-shots. So, even though I survived my second anxiety attack, I still need to stay less stressed. Things in school is starting to ease down.
Stay chilly, Brody.
