....Even though I posted the Zark Mabala montage video, the next morning the very first thought I had when I woke up was "Oh god, I wonder how he's feeling." And thus sprang awake and chopped him a coconut to take to him across camp in his tent. He was on a hike, however, with a VERY high Sammy, and cruised thru our camp about 30 minutes later, AT WHICH POINT i sat him down and fed him Porterhouse steak and eggs to get some yummy-greasy-alcohol-cutting protein in the boy's body and much needed salts.
So I'm not "totally heartless" like some emails/comments I've received since posting that vid. I did my best to make sure he lived so that we could all have a good laugh.
:)
Viva Zark Mabala!!!!!!!!

Re: And For the RECORD....
Fri, March 14, 2008 - 11:49 AMWhile everyone laughed and took pictures and made fun of him, it was really nice to see how everyone also looked out for him and made sure that he was getting food and water. Not just one or two people but _everyone_. I was completely amazed. The level of caring and concern that everyone in this community seems to have still surprises me a year later. I didn't know that so many people could be so cool.
Ok end mushyness. (Man, I must still be on that fuente high.)

Sheesh. Why do you even listen to people? Don't you know better by now?
Ya, she fed the Zark steak and eggs, which she made from scratch with her own little hands and that she had been planning with relish to eat herself at a later meal and did it without being asked and he enjoyed it thoroughly and looked a ton better afterwards, BUT she made him wash the dishes (which took like hours because he was such a mess), and drank the coconut milk herself when she didn't find Mr. Mabala in his tent. She also said she wanted to be able to say "You just ate the Porterhouse" which she did, several times.
Further, Roxy had several of us hovering over her until she was back to normal and I walked Klear back to her tent and into the care of several of her campmates including Shoghi and Bouncy. Turo has war wounds from keeping Zark from falling down a mountain and ended up as a human sled. If you read Zark's blog and see the list of people he thanks, he's not exaggerating, he did leave people out. For example, at one point I asked Tangi to take care of him while I went to get more water and she did with a smile.
That being said, both him and Rox (and Saynt and Mikeinsane and Andrea) were funny as hell. -

Re: And For the RECORD....
Fri, March 14, 2008 - 12:31 PMyay for Porter for not letting Zark die, but also letting as laugh at ourselves in the process. I've generally been very impressed with the level of camaraderie and support this group gives each other.
Also a little bit of forward-thinking and payback on that one I think, as most (if not all) of us have been in that same place once or twice.
Now to more serious business, I think we need some sort of "DJ Zark Mabala - 87% sober" t-shirts (or something to that effect) for the next shin-dig ;) -

Re: And For the RECORD....
Fri, March 14, 2008 - 5:18 PMShouldn't that be DJ Zark Mabala = 87% sober???
Or maybe Sabor? -

Re: And For the RECORD....
Fri, March 14, 2008 - 6:12 PMI think the front should say 87% Sober and the back should read "DJ Zark Mabala."
I would buy that T shirt! Maybe we can kick down some money for charity or something. -

I agree and think it should have a picture of Saynt. Those of you on the dance floor Thursday night would know why. -

Re: And For the RECORD....
Sat, March 15, 2008 - 11:38 AMOH NO YOU DONT. We talk about Saynt being drunk all the time. This is Zark's time to shine.
Besides... I have no idea what you're talking about. Surely. -

Re: And For the RECORD....
Sat, March 15, 2008 - 10:35 PMCalm down, Skippy. I was talking about your welcome, when you pointed to Wolfie and introduced him as "DJ Blue," then yourself as "Mark Zabala" while Zark was weaving around behind the stage being very sneaky and saying "Shhhh" as loudly as he could.
... but ya, you and the little lady did the Saynt Scorpia clan proud.
