Above all other things I want this to be a community gathering. I want us all to participate, to dance with each other, to learn from each other, and to feel comfortable connecting with each other. If there are people who feel intimidated to join in with whatever is going on then we have failed. Whether you come regularly or not please take extra care to greet people who you have not seen there before and make them feel not only welcome but involved and inspired.

There has recently been a few people who have expressed that they feel intimidated to come out and spin at the light house or that they feel it is exclusive. Fire University is for eveyone and anyone that has an interest in playing with fire or playing music for those who like to play with fire. Even those who have never lit up before are welcome. We are all here to learn and to teach.The weather is growing warmer, it's the perfect time to start comming out again. Bring your toys, bring your friends, bring yourself. Lets play. -

Perhaps the root of people's uncomfortability is that kind of attitude... You should welcome any input from the members of your community really, and encourage it.

...and if you have a problem with peoples posts, bring it up with them or your MODERATOR.
A post whining about posts is just, well, whiney.

I think anything anyone in the FU community wants to talk about is relevant even if it doesn't relate directly to us going out to the lighthouse. I have to support things like Aeons selling his car. He is an active member of FU and he should be able to use his community to his advantage, just as you should be able to post advertisements for you poi class here. I am assuming this is the kind of "off topic" posts you are talking about. If I'm missing something let me know.

I'm moving to the bay in June! Hopefully I'll get to the lighthouse this summer...
