We're more of a tribaret troupe and we're looking for a kick *** song to dance to for a major performance. We are doing a solace song, and Bombay by Timerland...we want something dramatic for the last song, maybe something that has nice sections so each of the troupe can have a moment in the spotlight.. We've been kicking around some non-traditional music like bands such as Massive Attack and Nine Inch Nails but so far we haven't found anything that we feel works well. We like a moody, gothic sort of start but it needs a kick to it...we're open to suggestions of what other songs/bands we can try. Anything you can suggest and we'll be thankful in our search for just the right song! We want to find something that hasn't been done to death...our Solace song, Nataraja, is about as traditional as we get but it should work side by side with this other song somehow. I've tried all the bands that have been mentioned here but when I start searching youtube I find that alot of the songs are already being used by bellydancers and we don't want to repeat...

Re: music selection
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 3:40 PMA couple of my favorites are Ekova and Agricantus. Both have a unique sound that isn't overplayed at every event. But their CDs are sometimes hard to track down (ie not much selection on itunes). Qntal, Corvus Corax, and Afro Celt Sound System are in my 'gothy bellydance' playlist.
