Kimmie, the Blood Moon Regale is an annual event put on by Unmata and it takes place in Sacramento Ca. usually the last weekend of October. It is a peak time for Unmata as far as events go. It is essentially a student recital of Unmata's student base and includes guest dancers from all over.

The celebration starts on a Friday night with a potluck and a fire spinning show at a really cool Capoeira studio. the following Saturday night is the main show at the Colonial Theater which seats about 1,000 people. After the show everyone heads to the after party at the Capoeira studio where there are more performances by various groups and soloists, more yummy potluck food & open dancing. After the after party the inner Unmata circle ends up back at Hot Pot Studio for a pow wow and safety meeting, and then its bed! LOL! The following Sunday morning there is a breakfast potluck at the Capoeira studio. Nummy Num Nums!

This year the theme is ZOO. Samira is going to be the Cobra!

I went to my first Blood Moon last year because I was hired to video tape it, and I was Blown Away! There are several peeps in Boise including Samira that have copies of the Blood Moon from last year. The theme was Batman.
