Calling all locals... I'm looking for a hotel close to BSU or somewhere nearby. Seems that there are lots of expensive ones, like the extended stay variety, right near the campus. I'd prefer something a little less expensive and don't mind driving a bit, but since I'm not too familiar with Boise I'm not certain how close things really are. Can anyone recommend a place with reasonable rates, but something a little nicer than Motel 6? I like clean Mom-n-Pop motels, too.

Re: Hotels near BSU
Fri, June 5, 2009 - 9:49 PMAnything near the airport or Broadway or ParkCenter is going to be very close to BSU. Checking in order of lower prices on travelocity.com (hotels.com was down), Doubletree Club on ParkCenter is very close, and decent, nice area too, on the river. The Shilo Inn at the top of Broadway is older but not too bad, although it's at a truck stop so it could be noisy. The Comfort Inn on Airport Way is okay. SpringHill Suites on ParkCenter is quite nice, on the river, quiet. Hope that helps.

Re: Hotels near BSU
Fri, June 5, 2009 - 10:01 PMThanks, Lenise. After searching a bit I found the Doubletree Hotel Riverside (not the Club) at a great online price. I think I'll book there. They have a pool and it's on the river. And, it's only 2 miles from BSU.
From the map things didn't really look all that close, but I guess Boise really isn't all that big, is it? -

Re: Hotels near BSU
Tue, June 9, 2009 - 8:40 PMAnd, I should mention to anyone else looking for a nice, yet inexpensive place... with a pool... on the river... check out the Doubletree Riverside. We got a double queen room with great amenities for $44.95 a night! That's way better than a Motel 6! And, there's warm chocolate chip cookies upon check in!

Re: Hotels near BSU
Tue, June 9, 2009 - 2:38 PMAkili, maybe you should drive faster. ;D
and when I was growing up here, anything out near where HP is now was considered "the boonies", and therefore didn't (doesn't?) count.
