A wonderful two-spirited woman is beginning to facilitate a group of nature-based spiritual queers and is extending an invitation to any and all who might be interested in discovering, exploring or deepening their relationship to pagan forms of spirituality, Native American, Buddhist or other Earth-centered traditions. Did you know there's an Alternative Lifestyles Night @ INDIGO?

I didn't know until today....when I was approached to play dance music there THIS week.

THURSDAY NIGHT

OCTOBER 19th

Here's the deal: I'm pretty much promised a regular gig there, assuming Thursday's draw a crowd.

This sounds great, because I pretty much attribute my becoming a DJ to : Falling in love with dance music in the heyday of the old Club Triangle back in the mid 90's.

To get that same venue rocking again would be a joy to see.

Not to mention, I'm anxious to get a proverbial foot in the door at Indigo for some of other DJs in the area to guest spot!

Think about it:

Red, Touch, Boogie, JSUN, Jan, Blanca, Dub, and more.....

It could be, as they say, "Off the hizee " hahaha

I know there are varying opinions out there about Indigo, some good, some bad.
I personally don't like the "booty" nights there, but that's simply because I
dislike a majority of the clientel that those nights attract. ( i.e. posers )

What it all comes down to is: The Music, and The People.

Forget what the venue is. It's just a room with speakers. We provide the fun.

So, who's with us?

The spring event hosted by Inferknow has been moved back to accomodate better weather and higher family attendance. The new date for the event is Saturday May 13. Called "The Bacchus Raucous" it will run pretty much as they have in the past....gates opening around 4pm for camping set-up....music should start around the same time.....and continuing into the wee hours of the morning. Tickets should go on sale very soon....look for flyers around town....and will be $20. Something new we are trying is a $5 charge for parking.....not to chisel any money or anything, but to encourage car-pooling. Parking spaces are limited so lets try to coordinate rides for everyone. The music line-up continues to grow, and we anticipate live fire performances and clowning frivolity so keep looking for new posts. We are also trying to expand the artistic aspect of this event so if you have any ideas for art insta;llations or wish to volunteer, opportunities are available...tribe me if you are interrested.

No Boys Allowed

Yo, I know this is somewhat unrelated, but we've always had this vision of a monthly/weekly called "No Boys Allowed" (now before you get all PC on me hear this out....)
All female DJ's, promoters, security, massage booths, everything, and not one male allowed inside the venue. The reason... to create an environment where male predation is not a factor. Imagine dancing however you want and not having to avoid potential lurkers, naked if you wanted to and never feeling like your being stared at. Just imagine the energy a show like this would have. And I know every guy who reads this is thinking "well maybe just me" but the answer is no. Big beefy ladies at the door who allow absolutely no males, no matter who you are. They'd be lined up like pathetic little puppy dogs at the door... But Kurt will coordinate a guys night on the same evening for boyfriends and other "left out" males to go party at a strip club or something, I dunno, just something we've always thought about, now maybe you all can think about it too....

The party will be happening 17 miles south of Mt. Shasta in a 2 story A frame with a wood stove with 2 big rooms with hardwood floors for dancing and a communal kitchen downstairs and a few bedrooms upstairs reserved for DJs. There are a bunch of couches for nap zones. Cuddle puddles could happen. There are also a few other cabins I rented for DJs. There are no other cabins available to the public in this location. There is a one bedroom
cabin reserved for the kids so that smaller children and parentscan have a chill zone...Brenda and Noel are in charge of the kidcabin. If anyone has any creative kid projects... feel free to
share with the kidsif anyone needs to get their own room...the closest place would be
Dunsmuir...10 miles north of the party.

Dunsmuir Lodge is off the
Southern most exit-$60 for a one bedroom king, $70 for 2 bedroom double beds...then there is a few other places in North Dumuir
(Cave Springs...and a few others) many other places to stay in Mt. Shasta as well.

Hey all. I am excited to tell you about a great friend of mine, a goddess in full effect. She is not only a f-ing awsome DJ, but she is a dancer and performer as well. She and her troop have been doing a special kind of show where she DJ's eastern style beatz and her girls dance tribal style in a seemingliy organized yet chaotic fashion. She has expressed an eagerness to come to our first big event and some of her troop wants to come too. Her name.... LAYLA .... I have some music for you guys to listen to. She has been DJing for a few years now and has an online radio show. I was thinking that it would be a great after-dinner type slot, if we are still planning on doing an all day thing, or at leaste afternoon/evening/all night/sunrise knock yer socks off and git r done kinda gig.
We'll talk more wednesday. can't wait to see you ladies.

I think we should plan an earlier, smaller gathering.
First, I think that we will have alot more support and turnout for our April gathering if we have a smaller, somewhat informative gathering.
Second, I think that kicking everything off with an all-female dj event might send the wrong message and put a stigma around the whole collective which I believe would be detrimental to our cause.
Let me know what you think, I already have some ideas.

New tribe for Outdoor Educators

I started a new tribe for Outdoor, Experiential, Environmental, and/or Adventure Educators. A place to share ideas and resources so we can do what we do even better. Anyone who works to get people outdoors and learning is invited. Or anyone who thinks this is a something they would like to do.

I am currently a Wilderness Instructor for Outward Bound Discovery. I have also worked for the Sierra Club, Student Conservation Association, and Sound Experience. I would love to connect with others from these organizations, but would also love to hear from some of you who have worked for others, so we can cross-pollinate (woo-hoo! lol).

On the healing tip...

There are infinite realms and paths to healing, and this is something that we learn and explore throughout our lives. At this event in April we are intending to have a massage/ reiki/ bodywork area during the daytime (at leaste?...) with massage tables. We are welcoming any bodyworkers that would be into it to have a scheduled time frame to do "yo thang."

I personally do not have professional massage training, but have had a reiki I attunement. I do however LOVE to give massage and have received many professional massages, so I am going to be signing up to do massage for 2 hours. During my time, I will not be charging, BUT...

If you are a massage therapist and would like to do massage at this event, please respond to this post or to me personally. You would be free to charge whatever fee (by the minute, whatever) that you would like to do. It is likely that we will have more than one table there, and there will be a shaded and intentionally decorated space that is conducive to relaxation and healing.

Also, we are working on getting Greenlife to cater some raw foods of the highest quality for the event, and we are open to any others that would like to cater yummy, healthy foodies. If interested, please contact!

Any other ideas??? PLEASE SHARE!! We want to hear your feedback and inspirations! Please spread the word...

Cleansing

So sweat lodges are easy to build and I think it would be a great thing to have one set up somewhere in the area. We could have weekly sweats that I would be happy to host.
The main thing is where can we build one...Does anyone know about a local piece of property where the owner wouldnt mind us coming up for mellow sweats?
Sweats are great for cleansing the body and the mind.
