Pepper trees

What do y'all know about pepper trees? I have four of them on the property I own. How do I know if I can use the peppercorns that they produce?

    If you are talking about the brazilian/peruvian pepper tree then they can cause some irritation to the gastrointestinal tract.
    They have a sweet peppery taste.
    They are in the same family as cashews, mangos, sumacs, and poison oak.
    They can have culinary and herbal uses but like I said they can also cause internal irritation.
