All this talk about beekeeping gave me the idea to extend the topics of discussion for this tribe.
What do you Raise and why?
Ive personally never had any animals outside of pets like cats, dogs, lizards, rabbits, and rats.
I would love to beekeep, raise goats, chickens, Alpacas, quail, emus (or relatives), pigs, rabbits, and whatever else I can. I love animals. I think i would have a hard time raising them for meat, i just cant pictures myself killing them and butchering them. I guess if i had to I could.
So, what do you raise? have you raised? do you want to raise?

1. I like goats as people. They are stabilizing and sane.
2. Their poop can be directly applied to the crops, like rabbit poop.
3. A cow produces just too much milk for one family. In the old days you could sell the excess, but that is no longer legal unless you are a qualified dairy, which involves so much trouble that you have to become a big operation. Under these constraints, a goat produces a more reasonable amount.
B
Chickens - I just can't stand the chicken meat and eggs they have at the market. Chickens are very different from goats. Chickens are little dinosaurs.
