Gay Pride Documentary?

You know, a thought just occured to me...I'm surprised that I've never seen a feature length documentary centered upon Gay Pride--it's history and evolution, as well as Pride Parades, festivities, and perhaps even dove-tailing with hate crimes legislation and civil marriage rights, etc. Dan Savage was on The Corbert Report on Comedy Central yesterday and reported that Gays & Lesbians as a protected class under hate crimes legislation is important not because it's already illegal to off and wail on someone violently; but because Gay bashing is a form of terrorism (I'm paraphrasing here, though an exact quote would be nice because he was so succinct!) meant to keep Gay men and Lesbians hidden, concealed, in "the closet" and from openly expressing their relationship or love for another of the same gender. Sadly, when this subject of Gay/Lesbian hate crime legislation was being debated on Reel Time with Bill Maher he basically took the President's stance (if I remember correctly) which is, basically, "Why bothers? It's already a crim to kick someone's ass?!"

Anyway, given digital camcorders and the editing software, etc. that's easily available, you'd think that making documentaries would become increasingly popular and practically flood the market!

Take Care,
Wade

PS--I am increasingly surprised by how many Gay male Witches I see in photographs, by way of their pentacle tattoos on their right shouldar or bicep-- the vast MAJORITY of them have actually been PORN STARS! I was just over at Flickr.Com, brousing, and set ANOTHER Gay men--during NYC's 2007 Gay Pride parade-- sporting *another* pentacle tattoo.
