The lights flickered and she thought she heard the sound of the wind and felt a slight breeze. She checked the window, but it was closed. She got a bit nervous and then laughed. "Oh this is silly," she thought as she put her hairbrush in her purse. "Watching too many scary movies, I guess", she said. But then suddenly there was a voice....... -

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 8:26 AMMina turned slowly in place, eyes searching out every corner of the room. There was no one there, no one at all, but there was definitely someone talking close by. Then the muffled voice stopped and the jingle of an auto dealer's advertisement began. She let out a startled laugh. It was the radio. Someone had just turned on the radio in the room next to hers. Then the rueful smile faded from her face, her skin growing pale as she remembered that her roommates had already left for their weekend camping trip.
Hadn't she watched them go? Hadn't she smiled, waved, wished them a good time before closing and locking the door securely? Hadn't she gotten a call just 10 minutes ago from Jackie letting her know that they'd all made it safely to the camp site two hours away and were about to crash for the night?
A slight rasp of sound jerked Mina from her terrifying thoughts. Her eyes darted to the door, widening in horror when she saw the doorknob slowly turning.
Someone was outside her bedroom. And they wanted to come in. -

Wed, July 1, 2009 - 9:14 AMMina was about to scream when the door flew open. Standing there was a most unusual sight. A beautiful woman dressed in a dazzling dance costume. But she kept fading in and out of focus, like someone adjusting a camera. "Come on, my dear. We're going to be late for the hafla". Mina was still so surprised and puzzled, she couldn't think of what to say as she watched the apparition walk across the bedroom and then step right into the mirror! Mina walked up to the mirror and, instead of her reflection, she saw the dancer beckoning to her. "Come! Come! You don't want to be late!" -

Mina's eyes went dark and blank as she fell into a trance. "Come! Come with me!" said the apparition. Her warm smile beckoned. Feeling cherished and welcome Mina smiled back and ran to join the beautiful woman....tripped on the edge of the carpet, banged her knee on the floor as she fell, her head connecting with a thwack against the very solid glass of the mirror as she collapsed, seeing stars and hearing mocking laughter from her mirror. -
