live/work artspace warehouse seeks creatives motivated folk

Ghosttown Studios is an upstart artspace & live/work collective in Swannanoa, about 15 minutes from Asheville. We are located on the Plaza in what used to be Swannanoa's bustling downtown, before the economic demise and subsequent burning of the Beacon textile plant. The train tracks run by to the south and the area is surounded by Baptish churches, auto yards, and decent folk. It is a peaceful and powerful space free of distractions (which are conveniently located minutes away in Ashville or Black Mountain). Currently, we are 6 adults, 2 kids: David, (23, illustrator & graphic artist) Josephine, (21, painter, writer, housecat) Lyla (2, sweetpea) Kai (3mo, caterpillar) Chris, (21, photographer, tenor) ,Kara (queen and chowhound, watchdog)& (Joshua, 27, writer, builder) Charles, (21, chef, musician) and Malorie (21, spraypaint diva and crockpot queen). We are looking for folk to use the space constructively and creatively- live/work space for live-in artists or using the space for work-only. The space is about 2600 ft sqare, and was the first BI-LO in the state. It has 10 ft ceilings, tons of light and wood floors, with 2 small lofts and another living space, a full kitchen and gas range, woodstove as well as gas furnaces, and a bath and shower. David and Josie and the kids live next door in a adjacent trailer and share the studio's common space with us. High speed wireless internet. One side of the bldg has been walled off for use as a woodshop and bike studio (mostly functional) and a darkroom (needs work) There is a modular visual & graphic arts studios space in one corner. The building has a flat roof and we have plans to do some small scale hoophouse greens/herbs cultivation there along with a few bee hives. Other works in progress include monthy full moon celebrations, writing salons, a wood fired hottub, etc. Right now it seems we have more plans and dreams than hands, so collaborators are needed!
The studio is comfortable and open, not very furnished, and there is plenty of space and potential for a variety of mediums. Video, visual, clay, dance, etc.. any and all directions welcomed. A collective minded communal living space and art studio focused on self-reliance, work, and fun is the idea. Like minded folk please reply here.
