I'm Cleaning House!

topic posted Wed, July 4, 2007 - 12:23 PM by  Gilbert
Anyone who was suspected of being in cahoots with whoever absconded with my dear friend Captain Puppet is NOT welcome here! I'm booting them out and will boot them again if they try to come back. I want to keep this tribe public for as long as I can, but the bouncer is at the door! The lounge will not tolerate miscreants!!

I've decided to be lenient and only throw out Static and Brimstone. Everyone else had better just play nice, or the bouncer will eject you!!

be sure you clean out the dryer exaughst. it has a way of collecting lint and stuff that can give life to evil socks that are lost in the dryer.

The deletion was due to me being in the wrong profile, not some nasty sock blowing something up!

Aunt Bea, dryer lint is also a fire hazard! I'll have one of the boys clean that all out!

Have a Virgi-tini, Auntie! I have no idea what's in it, but it's alcohol free!

can someone instruct me on how to clean out the lint that gets inside the dryer and becomes a fire hazard, besides what comes out of the lint catcher? Or is it something I have to have a pro do? People keep mentioning this to me randomly - I'm taking it as a sign!

There should be a a bendy tube for the dryer exhaust(though do they have them on electric dryers? If they do, we are missing something!). Anyway, the bendy tube will collect lint too, the trap is only the first stop. The bendy tube should only be taped or strapped on and you can remove it and shake out the accumulated lint, their may also be lint where the exhaust leaves the dryer.
Somebody may know more about this than me, because the last time I did this was before I left Illinois. A decade and some change ago.

yeah, you need to change or clean the exaughst where the hot air leave the house. i usually just buy a new tube once a year. also, brush out as far as you can reach in the dryer from both sides and clean where the exaughst exits the house. the part the birds try to build nests in. also, wash your lint filter in hot soapy water with a soft brush about once a month.
