I had quite the experience on the bus last night. I was coming home from work at about 10pm. Some of the busses in Vegas have these automatic wheel locks for wheelchairs, and this was my lucky night. To make a long story short, when the driver attempted to release the wheel lock, the handle broke off in his hand! They had to empty the entire bus, and some clown in the back started bitching about wheelchairs and busses and how they shouldn't mix. Well, I lied and told him I got in this wheelchair fighting for his country so that he could have the right to say something so stupid. The rest of the passengers laughed him off the bus and gave me high fives on the way out. Anyway, they called in a supervisor to try to release my chair, he tried for 20 minutes with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers to no avail. They finally called in the mechanics, who showed up an hour later. They freed me in seconds, but I had been stuck on the bus for two hours. So fair warning gimps, if your city bus has automatic wheel locks, insist that the driver not use them and strap you in instead!
